Resilience
Bouncing back. Growing. Moving forward.
There is no single path through adversity to resilience. Each person's journey is unique, and resilience can emerge in many different ways.
Explore resilience →A story that became a platform
Personal experience, professional understanding, faith, and resilience come together in the story behind To Resilience and Beyond.
Life can take unexpected turns that leave us questioning what we are experiencing, who we are, and what comes next.
To Resilience and Beyond is a place to explore experiences, find understanding, discover your voice, and be inspired by the possibility of resilience and what comes next.
You are important. You are worthy. Your voice matters. Your story matters.

My personal story is shared in Chapter 17 of this anthology. Writing the chapter became an important part of my own process—creating space to reflect, process, understand, and begin to visualize a life beyond the toxicity.

My Story
Following a tumultuous divorce, my life took an unexpected turn that eventually became what I consider parental alienation. During that time, I found myself navigating life without my children beside me.
Through faith, determination, and resilience, I began creating a new path for myself. Along the way, I developed strengths that emerged through my experiences.

You may find yourself questioning your own reality, second-guessing what you remember or believe, hesitating to speak, or wondering whether your perspective matters.
It does. Your perspective matters.
A Gentle Reminder
A spider plant is a simple, enduring reminder of growth and renewal. Its spiderettes reach outward, creating new possibilities while remaining connected to what came before.
For me, it represents the belief that our environment can offer subtle reminders of the direction we want to move—and that growth can continue, one small step at a time.
Sometimes the smallest reminders in our environment can gently point us toward the direction we want to move.
A symbol of resilience, growth, and possibilities beyond what we know.
Writing & Work
Writing has given Karen another way to make sense of her experiences, process what she has lived through, and give voice to experiences that people may feel ashamed to share or may keep hidden deep inside.
The process of writing has also been therapeutic, creating space to reflect, understand, and begin to visualize a life beyond the toxicity—a life with greater peace, mental clarity, purpose, and direction.
“Knowledge can open the door. Knowing where to turn can help us walk through it.”
Education, resources, and connection can be powerful parts of finding a way forward.
Resources
Sometimes finding a way forward begins with information that helps us understand what we have experienced and what we may experience going forward.
The resource collection includes documentaries, books, educational materials, and other starting points for learning, reflection, and further exploration.
It is not simply what we know, but knowing how to find what we need when we need it that can make a meaningful difference.
